Twinkle Twinkle Little Star In All Twelve Major Keys

We want our students to play comfortable in any key; and there's already so much repertoire in which pianists of all levels can experience all twelve major keys on the keyboard. So why this package?

Although there is repertoire available for all major keys, I haven't yet seen a resource where students get to play the same piece in all twelve major keys. But why is this skill important?

The ability to transpose songs is a valuable skill. Imagine your student is playing on their church's worship team. But the leader changes the key at the last minute because the singer has a sore throat. A confident pianist will be like: "That's fine! Let's take it down a step."

But how do we get there? How do we help our students become so confident that they can play any song in any key?

All skills are built progressively. The first step is always imitation. We didn't learn how to cook in one day; we watched our parents do it and we copied their steps until we became confident enough to make our own lunch. Therefore, in order to build the skill of playing any song in any key, we need to first have a hands-on experience of playing one song in all twelve major keys with some help. This is what this packet is.

In this collection you will access 12 transpositions to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with the right hand playing the melodic line and the left hand playing basic blocked primary chords. BUT WAIT! :) Only the first one in C major has both the RH and the LH written down. The other 11 transpositions only feature the RH melody, while the bass clef is intentionally left blank. FEAR NOT! I included the corresponding primary chords at the top of each page for your convenience :)

This packet is suitable for pianists who have already experienced playing triads in their left hand (late beginner / early intermediate and above). Even advanced pianists can benefit from this challenge if they've never transposed a song before!
