Inspired by Händel’s famous tune from his oratorio Judas Maccabaeus, “Thine Is the Glory” has become a favorite Easter hymn for Christian believers. This advanced piano arrangement echoes “händelian” compositional techniques such as parallel thirds in the right hand for the introduction and interludes. During the main sections the right hand plays melody and chords while the left hand plays open octaves, not only to provide harmonic support, but also to connect phrases via moving bass line lotes.
