This advanced piano medley arrangement opens with John Hatton’s hymn tune “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” which is later followed by Beethoven’s famous “Ode to Joy” theme from his ninth symphony (or “Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee” as it is found in many hymnals). The blocked chords sprinkled throughout this arrangement create a celebratory atmosphere to reflect the powerful text. At the same time, there are some gentle musical moments to provide musical contrast between sections. Suitable for church prelude, offertory, or postlude on any Sunday of the year but especially on Easter Sunday to conclude Holy Week.
