Basics of Piano Improvisation and Arranging: Lavenders Blue

Whether you are a piano teacher or a pianist who wants to learn more about the art of improvising at the piano, this packet is for you!

In this collection you will find 10 different piano solo versions of the song “Lavenders Blue” designed to show you ways in which you can implement improvisation with your students or in your own practice time.

All 10 versions are in the key of C major, they each are one page long, and are appropriate for intermediate level pianists (the first four versions can even be played by early intermediate pianists who have already encountered triads in their repertoire; then you save the more challenging ones for later).

Each version will have a summary page in which I show the specific ways in which I embellished both the right hand and the left hand parts.
